THE SECRET POWERS OF MEDITATION

“Those who really want to be yogis must give up, once and for all, this nibbling at things. Take up one idea; make that one idea your life. Think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave other ideas alone.”
                                                                                                                    by Swami Vivekananda

So what is meditation? Meditation is the power which enables us to resist all negative thoughts that make us weak. It has the power to change things around you. It can make you as strong as you have ever thought of (not the muscle power, but the inner strength to fight diseases and ability to think healthy). It can be used to earn name, fame, energy, improve concentration, control your blood pressure, relieve stress and several other benefits which are still under R&D by eminent scientist across the globe.

Scientists are now saying that meditation may bring beneficial changes in the brain. The researchers report that those who meditated for about 30 minutes a day for eight weeks had measurable changes in gray-matter density in parts of the brain associated with memory, sense of self, empathy and stress. The findings can be found on the Volume 191, Issue 1 , Pages 36-43, 30 January 2011 of the Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging under the Topic name :Mindfulness practice leads to increases in regional brain gray matter density (the url:http://www.psyn-journal.com/article/S0925-4927(10)00288-X/abstract).

Methods/ Techniques of Meditation: Meditation is easy to master but one has to practice it on a regular basis. It’s an awesome treatment for the heart, mind, body and soul. One should enjoy the deep relaxation that is achieved with regular practice of Meditation.

Practice Meditation on a regular basis: Cultivate the habit of meditating for a couple of hours initially. Believe me it’s not that hard as it sounds right now. Just try to pull out some time from your tight schedule for the next 21 days and find a peaceful place to sit down and start discovering yourself. Take it as an investment where you want to share some time with yourself.

Begin your day with the thought of meditation. There is an added bonus to filling your morning with this thought because your daily routines are the times when you can harm yourself with negative thoughts without realizing that you’re doing it. So why not have a short meditation of 30 minutes at beginning of the day. When you start doing meditation on a regular basis .you will realize that indeed Morning shows the day.

Do not stress yourself: There is no need to be stressed or be in any tension when you start meditation. Be patient and stay calm before even you sit down for meditation. Here let me also tell you that meditation can be done anywhere, anytime and in any posture. There is no set rules in meditation except for the above stated. One can meditate even by down or sitting in a chair in a position which doesn't cause any discomfort or disturbance.

There should be only one thought: There should be only one thought while you sit for meditation because this one thought will not only make you entire day go better but also your life changes. Go into a state of thoughtlessness and enjoy the feeling of deep meditation. If any thought or worry enters into your mind just say this: My lord, I surrender to you. I leave all my worries to you.

Sahasrara Meditation: Learn to use the Sahasrara Chakra, which is the Seventh Chakra in the Kundalini. With practice you will for sure attain this level of deep meditation. When you attain this level you develop your sixth sense and it is the channel for higher energies.

Why talking about Meditation: Meditation is the only way one can awaken the Kundalini . The Kundalini is an energy or life force (we call it Prana) at the base of the spine that can be drawn up through the body awakening each of the Seven Chakras. Full enlightenment occurs when this energy reaches the crown chakra at the top of the head. Kundalini energy is often represented as a snake coiled at the bottom of the spine.
